Francesca Mey is a visual artist and creative director currently exploring world-building with AI. Her work explores animism, syncretism and world mythologies. Through the juxtaposition of different cultural identities and the exploration of the relationship between humans and their environment her art explores a diverse understanding of "Being" and playfully challenges the myths of innovation and progress.
Her project “Tales of Karoo” is a playful attempt to imagine a more hopeful and joyful future. An ongoing series of images and prose, it's an exploration of a land where humans live in communion and symbiosis with all other beings. Seen and unseen, known and unknown, where nature prospers and mystery is everywhere. A land where humans are not masters, but humble stewards, entrusted with the care of a fragile and precious world.
